More About Alfred Sofer, MD

Alfred Sofer, MD, completed an undergraduate degree at Columbia University and a medical degree at Albany Medical College. He completed his training in general surgery at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York, and a plastic surgery fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. In addition, Dr. Sofer completed advanced research on microsurgery and hand surgery at the Christine M. Kleinert Institute – the institution that hosted the nation's only successful hand transplant to date. Dr. Sofer continues to enhance his knowledge in the most advanced plastic surgery techniques and procedures by attending medical education courses and by remaining actively involved in the education of medical students and surgical residents at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
