More About John S. Silverton, MD, FRCS

John S. Silverton, MD, FRCS, was born and educated in England, where he attended the prestigious Eton College boarding school. Dr. Silverton earned his medical degree at St. Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College in London. After graduation, he trained extensively in general surgery in England and in plastic surgery at Canniesburn Hospital in Glasgow, Scotland, a highly acclaimed plastic surgery facility. Dr. Silverton traveled to the United States in 1975, completing his plastic surgery training at Emory University in Atlanta. He spent two years serving on the teaching faculty at the University of California at Davis in the Department of Plastic Surgery and was Chief of Surgery at Dameron Hospital for six years. He is committed to continuing his education and the education of other surgeons, and has published a plastic surgery textbook and a number of scientific papers.

Dr. Silverton is a member of a number of professional medical societies both in the United States and abroad, including the American Society of Plastic Surgery, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the California Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Scotland. He is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
