More About Kevin E. Shaw, MD

Kevin E. Shaw, MD earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada in 1978. Following medical school, Dr. Shaw completed general surgery residencies at the University of Alberta and the University of British Columbia. He remained at the University of British Columbia to complete his plastic surgery residency. Dr. Shaw later traveled to the United States where he completed a postgraduate craniofacial fellowship at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic and a cosmetic surgery fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

Dr. Shaw was then invited to became a member of the Plastic Surgery Department at the Mayo Clinic in Minneapolis. When the Mayo Clinic opened its new satellite facility in Jacksonville, Dr Shaw became Head of that Plastic Surgery Department. He served as Department Head and as an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery for the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine before eventually establishing his own private practice, the Shaw Clinic for Plastic Surgery, in Boca Raton. Dr. Shaw has served as Chief of Surgery for Boca Raton Community Hospital and presented or published more than 93 scientific papers and chapters related to various plastic surgery topics.

Dr. Shaw is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of a number of professional medical societies, some of which include: the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery, the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Palm Beach County Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons.
