Jeffrey S. Poulter, MD, FACS, received his Bachelor of Science degree with honors from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Southern Illinois School of Medicine in Springfield. He completed his general surgery and plastic surgery residencies at the University of Missouri Health Sciences Center. He is a highly regarded speaker on topics ranging from body contouring following pregnancy to correcting the deformities following massive weight loss. Other topics have included skin cancer and breast reconstruction at the Relay for Life; office surgical safety for the Physician Insurers Association of America; and cosmetic procedures for Seniors on the Go. He is a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and is affiliated with several prestigious organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Medical Association and the Midwestern Association of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Poulter has staff appointments with several area hospitals, including the St. Joseph Medical Center, BroMenn Regional Medical Center and the Bloomington Normal Healthcare Surgery Center.

Dr. Poulter is a well-respected member of the community, serving in numerous capacities, including as a past member of the symphony board, a current member of the Komen for the Cure McLean County affiliate board, volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and a past assistant soccer coach at PCSL for six years. He is a dedicated member of the Wesley United Methodist Church's congregation and is the co-chair of its Men's group, leader of the Letters from Dad ministry, sings in the choir and plays drums in the jazz band.
