More about Mary Lee Peters, MD

Mary Lee Peters, MD, is a cum laude graduate of The University of Virginia. Dr. Peters earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Virginia in 1977. After graduating medical school, Dr. Peters participated in a select surgical internship program through Barnes Hospital, Washington University, followed by surgical residencies at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston. Her extensive training continued with a two-year fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, and a plastic surgery fellowship at Georgetown University Medical Center. Determined to add to her expertise, Dr. Peters later completed additional advanced specialty training in a private fellowship program in Minneapolis, where she focused on microsurgical techniques.

Dr. Peters is affiliated with a number of professional medical societies, some of which include: The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Washington State Plastic Surgery Society, the Northwest Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Washington State Medical Society, and the Johns Hopkins Medical Surgical Association. She is a past Chair of the Plastic Surgery Department of Washington Hospital Center, and certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
