T. Gerald O'Daniel, MD, FACS, received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky, before earning his medical degree from the University of Louisville. Dr. O'Daniel remained at the University of Louisville after graduation to participate in a select general surgery internship program, during which he also conducted research for the Department of Surgery, Division of Otolaryngology. He then completed an otolaryngology residency, serving as Chief Administrative Resident. Dr. O'Daniel later completed a plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at Washington University, again being selected to serve as Chief Administrative Resident. Dr. O'Daniel is fellowship-trained in three specialty areas. He completed a facial nerve and facial paralysis fellowship at Shadyside Hospital, a pediatric plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at Washington University, and a craniofacial and pediatric surgery fellowship at Chang Gury Memorial Hospital.

In addition to running his own private practice, Dr. O'Daniel is actively involved in educating other plastic surgeons. He is a past instructor of plastic and reconstructive surgery for Washington University, and currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Louisville and Kosair Childrens Hospital. He is widely recognized for his expertise. He is often invited to speak at symposia held throughout the country and he has published his research findings about advancements in plastic surgery in a number of academic publications.

Dr. O'Daniel is a member of numerous professional associations.

Dr. O'Daniel is affiliated with the major professional medical societies, some of which include the American Medical Association, the Jefferson County Medical Society, the Kentucky Medical Association, the Kentucky Plastic Surgery Society (past president), the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Plastic Surgery Research Council, the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
