David M. Metzner, MD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon. He specializes in procedures for facial rejuvenation to minimize the effects of aging, facial feature enhancement, and breast and body contouring. Dr. Metzner approaches each and every one of his patients from an artistic point-of-view, ensuring they receive the best possible result. David M. Metzner, MD, is exceptional in that he is board certified in two specialties recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties. In addition to being a board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Metzner is also a board-certified otolaryngologist.
Dr. Metzner is committed to helping educate and train the aesthetic plastic surgeons of tomorrow. He is a past member of the teaching faculty at Harvard Medical School and a Clinical Professor at Louisiana State University School of Medicine. He has also served as a visiting professor at the Nassau County, New York Medical Center, at the Medical College of Wisconsin and as a visiting lecturer at the University of California, San Diego. His unique insights to the field of cosmetic plastic surgery are sought after by teaching institutions and conferences all over the world, the result of which has allowed him the privilege of lecturing in Europe, South America and Asia.
Dr. Metzner is a three-time recipient of the American Medical Association's Physician's Recognition Award and a four-time recipient of the Appreciation Award from the North American Medical/Dental Association.
Dr. Metzner is or has been a member of a number of professional societies, including: The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the Louisiana Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the Louisiana State Medical Society, the New Orleans Parish Medical Society and the Harvard Club of Louisiana of which he was the 2005 president.
Dr. Metzner practiced cosmetic plastic surgery in the New Orleans area for thirty years until he lost his home in Hurricane Katrina. He and his family decided to return to New England and he has moved his practice to Manchester, VT where he is the plastic surgeon for The Vermont Center for Plastic Surgery and Dermatology.
