More About Daniel A. Medalie, MD

Daniel A. Medalie, MD, completed his Doctor of Medicine degree at Cornell University's Weill Cornell Medical College, during which time he traveled to Paris to conduct research. Following medical school, Dr. Medalie received plastic surgery training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and completed a fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Shriners Burns Institute. Dr. Medalie graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University before attending classes at Parson's School of Design and the Art Students League in New York City, an experience which enhanced his artistic ability and helps him in the evaluation and surgical treatment of his patients. He subsequently graduated with alpha omega alpha honors from Cornell Medical School in New York City and proceeded to be the first resident to train at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's highly prestigious integrated plastic surgery training program. Dr. Medalie is a former Assistant Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Kentucky and served as Director of the Burn and Wound clinic there. He was Chief of Plastic Surgery at the Cleveland VA medical center from 2002-2006 and an attending surgeon at the University Hospitals of Cleveland. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Ohio Valley Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Ohio State Medical Association.

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Medalie currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and the MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. He is considered to be an expert in microvascular reconstructive surgery and has presented his clinical and scientific research worldwide.
