Ian Thomas Jackson, MD is a board certified plastic surgeon with more than 22 years of experience in the fields of aesthetic body, aesthetic breast, aesthetic face/neck, and reconstructive breast cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Jackson is highly experienced and skilled in all areas of cosmetic plastic surgery. He is a world famous plastic surgeon who is considered to be one of the "founding fathers" of craniofacial surgery, pioneering a number of surgical techniques. He also has special expertise in breast augmentation, breast implant and breast enhancement surgeries. His dedication to his profession and his devotion to his patients endears Dr. Jackson to his fellow plastic surgeons. Throughout Dr. Jackson's distinguished career, he has held the post of Professor of Plastic, Craniofacial and Maxillofacial Surgery at a number of prominent universities around the world, notably Mayo Clinic and Medical School, Rochester, Minnesota. He has held appointments at Guys Hospital and St. Thomas's Medical School in London.

More About Dr. Jackson

Ian Jackson, MD earned his Bachelor of Medicine (MB) and Bachelor of Surgery (ChB) at the University of Glasgow. Dr. Jackson's skill earned him a select postgraduate Internal Medicine/General Surgery internship at the prestigious Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Following completion of his internship, Dr. Jackson remained at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where he performed residencies in Pathology, Surgery and Plastic Surgery before transitioning to Canniesburn Hospital where he served as Senior Resident in Plastic Surgery from 1969 to 1979. During this time he also spent one year in Europe studying craniofacial, cleft lip and palate reconstruction with some of the foremost surgeons in Europe at that time. When he left Glasgow in 1979 he went to Mayo Clinic to head the plastic surgery program there, a position he held for ten years. Currently, Dr. Jackson runs his own private practice located in Southfield, Michigan and is the director of the Craniofacial Institute (affiliated with Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan). Dr. Jackson is also Director of the Plastic Surgery Residence Program at Providence Hospital.

Dr. Jackson is a member of the major medical and plastic surgery societies, some of which include the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, the European Association of Plastic Surgeons, the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons and the American Medical Association.
