For more than 25 years, Dr. Hurwitz has been noted as one of the most highly-skilled plastic surgeons in the nation. He has been recognized as one of America's Top Physicians for specialist referrals for six consecutive years. Dr. Hurwitz is regularly invited to lecture throughout the nation and abroad on a variety of plastic surgery subjects, including his signature Total Body Lift surgery. He has published more than 120 articles and several book chapters about facelift, cleft lip palate, hemangiomas, body contouring, ultrasonic liposuction and reconstructive flap surgery.
Dr. Hurwitz is the senior surgeon and the leader of the talented plastic surgery team at Hurwitz Centers for Plastic Surgery in both Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Beverly Hills, California. He is also the founder and former director of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Center. Dr. Hurwitz is a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of numerous medical societies, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the prestigious American Association of Plastic Surgeons. He is a former President of the Allegheny County Medical Society, the Greater Pittsburgh Plastic Surgical Society, the Ohio Valley Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Robert H. Ivy Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Nestor Veitia, MD, received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was awarded the Jefferson Medical College President's Award. Dr. Veitia served his general surgery residency at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, where his surgical excellence and dedication earned him the Pennsylvania Hospital Humanism in Surgery Award and the Pennsylvania Hospital Resident Teaching Award. In addition, Dr. Veitia has completed an advanced research fellowship in plastic surgery at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and a specialized clinical fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Pittsburgh, where he currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery. Dr. Veitia is eligible to sit for the American Board of Plastic Surgery Exams in 2009.
Dr. Veitia performs a range of aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery procedures, including sophisticated body contouring treatments for patients who have lost a large amount of weight following bariatric surgery. As the director of the Hurwitz Center for Rejuvenation, Dr. Veitia also offers an array of non-surgical enhancement procedures. His training and experience have allowed him to earn memberships with several highly regarded medical associations, including the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, the Jefferson Medical College Gibbon Surgical Society and the Delaware Bone Marrow Donor Coalition.
