James W. Fletcher, MD, received his undergraduate degree from St. Louis University before earning his medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Fletcher continued his surgical training by completing a general and plastic surgery residency at Brown University. Dr. Fletcher later completed a Hand/Upper Extremity and Microsurgery Fellowship at the prestigious Duke University School of Medicine.

He has served as an active member of hospital staff at many of the East Metro hospitals and has performed surgeries at North Memorial Medical Center in the West Metro. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Minnesota where he is helping to educate the next generation of great medical students, surgery residents, plastic surgery fellows and hand surgery fellows. He also serves as the sitting Chief of Hand Surgery for Health Partners and Regions Hospital in St. Paul, and is an active member of a number of local and national plastic surgery organizations.

Martin S. Lacey, MD, FRCS(C), is an experienced professional with a special interest in craniofacial reconstruction, cleft lip and palate surgery, breast reconstruction and cosmetic surgery. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alberta before earning his medical degree from the University of Alberta Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. Following medical school, Dr. Lacey completed a Canadian College of Family Practice (CCFP) residency at the University of Calgary and a plastic surgery residency at Dalhousie University. He culminated his formal training with a craniofacial surgery fellowship through the University of Western Ontario. He has been voted a Top Doctor by Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine.

Dr. Lacey has been practicing plastic surgery since 1991 and currently serves as a staff physician at many of the East Metro hospitals, in addition to being the craniofacial plastic surgeon for the Childrens Hospitals in Minneapolis and St. Paul. He is active in the University of Minnesota Plastic Surgery Residency Program and is on the board of directors for Smile Network International, a nonprofit providing aid to children born with cleft lip and palate in developing countries. He also travels for AO/ASIF, lecturing in facial trauma repair and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Lacey is affiliated with a number of professional medical societies, some of which include: The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association, the Minnesota Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Dean E. Mann, MDCM, FRCS(C), received his undergraduate degree from McGill University before earning his medical degree from McGill University Faculty of Medicine. He remained at McGill University to complete a general surgery and plastic surgery residency. Dr. Mann practiced plastic surgery in Canada for 13 years with a special interest in hand surgery and breast reconstruction. He later moved to the Twin Cities where he serves as a staff surgeon in many of the East Metro hospitals, including Hudson Hospital in Wisconsin. He is currently active in the University of Minnesota Plastic Surgery Residency Program and is a volunteer for missions to Peru where he performs reconstruction of cleft lips and palates for young children.

Dr. Mann is affiliated with a number of professional medical societies, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.

Warren Schubert, MD, FACS, is a highly-experienced surgeon with special interest in maxillofacial surgery, aesthetic surgery and hand surgery. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from North Dakota State University and his Bachelor of Science from the University of North Dakota. He later earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of North Dakota. Following medical school, Dr. Schubert completed a family practice residency at the University of Texas, a general surgery residency at McGill University, a plastic surgery residency at Case Western Reserve, and a maxillofacial trauma / micro fellowship at Georgia Baptist Hospital.

Dr. Schubert has been practicing plastic surgery in the Twin Cities since 1991 and currently works as a staff physician at most hospitals in the East Metro area. He has been voted a Top Doctor by Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine and is active in the University of Minnesota Plastic Surgery Residency Program. He is Chair of the Department of Plastic & Hand Surgery at Regions Hospital and serves on the Board of Trustees for the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, AO International, and the Society for Peripheral Nerve.

Dr. Schubert is affiliated with a number of professional medical societies, some of which include: The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, the Association of Academic Chairmen of Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the Canadian Society for Aesthetic (Cosmetic) Plastic Surgery, the American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association, the Plastic Surgery Research Council, the American Association for Hand Surgery and the American society for Reconstructive Microsurgery.

Loree K. Kalliainen, MD, is an extensively-trained surgeon who specializes in the treatment of acute and chronic problems of the hand and forearm. A graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School, Dr. Kalliainen began her general surgery residency at the University of Iowa. After transferring to the plastic surgery program at the University of Michigan, Dr. Kalliainen conducted nerve and muscle healing research for two years before resuming her formal clinical training. She went on to complete an intensive Fellowship in Hand Surgery at the University of Virginia in the Departments of Plastic and Orthopedic Surgery.

Dr. Kalliainen held a faculty position at the Ohio State University in Columbus where she was active in educating resident medical students, EMTs, and firefighters on the acute management of hand injuries. She also became an instructor in Advanced Burn Life Support. In addition, Dr. Kalliainen continued nerve research while participating in clinical research projects and served as Chairperson of the Institutional Review Board.

Dr. Kalliainen continued her participation in the education of residents and medical students after moving to the Twin Cities in 2004 to assume a position at the Department of Plastic and Hand Surgery at Regions Hospital. She currently serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Minnesota.

Board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Kalliainen is also certified in the subspecialty of Surgery of the Hand. She is an active member of a number of professional medical societies, including the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the American Association for Hand Surgery, the American Society for Peripheral Nerve, and the Plastic Surgery Research Council.
