More about Dr. Gary Friedman

Dr. Friedman earned his medical degree from Ohio State University. He completed an internship at Mount Zion Hospital and Medical Center in San Francisco, a general surgery residency at Marquette University, and a plastic surgery residency at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco. He also served as a flight surgeon in Vietnam.

Dr. Friedman began his private plastic surgery practice in the Bay Area in 1973. After first building a solid foundation in general and reconstructive plastic surgery, he soon focused his attention entirely in the area of aesthetic plastic surgery. To remain on the cutting-edge as a plastic surgeon, he has continually upgraded his knowledge and honed his skills with the latest proven techniques in plastic surgery, including endoscopic forehead rejuvenation, laser skin resurfacing, and ultrasonic liposuction.

In recognition of his dedication to maintaining the highest standards in medical care, Dr. Friedman has been the recipient of the American Medical Associations Physician Recognition Award in Continuing Medical Education for more than 15 years. He has also been awarded the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Certificate of Advanced Education in Cosmetic Surgery and has been named in Strathmores Whos Who as a select member of distinguished, board certified plastic surgeons.

Dr. Friedman served as a clinical instructor at Saint Francis Hospital and as Chief of Plastic Surgery for 10 years at two major San Francisco-area hospitals.
