More about Leland M. Deane, MD, FACS

Dr. Deane earned his MD degree from State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in 1978. He completed his general surgical internship and residency at the renowned Tufts New-England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed his plastic surgery residency at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine in Norfolk, Virginia. He completed specialty fellowship training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Division of Hand Surgery and Department of Orthopedic Surgery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Deane currently serves as Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery at the North Shore/ LIJ Health System, Southside Hospital and is a faculty member at Cornell University Medical College. He has been selected as a Fellow in the prestigious American College of Surgeons and he is a past Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

As an active humanitarian, Dr. Deane has lead volunteer missions to Colombia, South America to treat congenital malformations in children.
