Rod J. Rohrich, MD, FACS, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained plastic surgeon and Professor and Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Rohrich has received highly regarded accolades in recognition of his outstanding expertise in plastic surgery, including the "Crystal Charity Ball Distinguished Chair in Plastic Surgery," the "Betty and Warren Woodward Chair in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery," and the "Distinguished Professorship in Wound Healing and Plastic Surgery." Additionally, he is cited in "Who's Who in America," Good Housekeeping magazine's "Best Doctors in America," Castle Connelly's "Best Doctors in America," and D Magazine's "Best Doctors in Dallas." He has also been featured as a plastic surgery expert on the Oprah Winfrey Show, The View, and Good Morning America.
Dr. Rohrich is a pioneer and leader in plastic and reconstructive surgery, having served as President of the Association of Academic Chairmen of Plastic Surgery and President of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He has been a member of the Board of Directors for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and has served on the Boards of the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation. In addition, Dr. Rohrich served as a Chairman for the Resident Physicians Section of the American Medical Association, one of the largest organizations of medical professionals in the country.
Dr. Rohrich has more than 20 years experience and has written extensively about plastic surgery with more than 500 published journal articles, over 50 book chapters and five textbooks to his credit. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the most widely respected plastic surgery journal in the world, and is an editor for Selected Readings in Plastic Surgery.
